I thought I would visit again even though last visit many years ago was pretty bad. I ordered a glass of wine and the spaghetti and meatballs. The salad came out and looked really good, however, a few bites in I found a hair...this quickly changed my appetite for the salad. The server came over and apologized and asked if I wanted another...I replied "no". My pasta was very good. No manager came over to apologize or say anything at all. I at least thought a manager would come to apologize...I was disappointed...not sure I will return.

New to the area and was looking for Italian restaurant. We are Italian and from New York and know "good" Italian food. This however was the most disgusting Italian food I've ever tasted.. The sauce?! Where in the world did that come from? Tasted like a metal can. They also did not have eggplant on the menu. I have never been to an Italian restaurant that doesn't offer it. This place is FAR from Italian.

My wife and I came to Maria's because we haven't been there in a while. I got the veal Marsala and she got some pasta dish, can't remember exactly. My veal Marsala was mediocre in flavor and had a thin slice of veal, barley enough to call it veal Marsala. There was so much pasta to compensate for the veal portion that you could have fed three people with it. This restaurant was a lot better in the past, like a few years ago. I'm not sure what changed, owner, cook, or maybe both; but it is not what it was in the past.

I have given this place 3 chances to prove me wrong over the past 2 years. Shame on me for not going with my gut the first time. I'd say if you are in the mood for mediocre pizza then yeah eat at maria's BUT for everything else head elsewhere. They are super expensive for what they serve and what is up with the decor???? It's like they designed the place with finds at the local swap meet. I'm pretty sure the pictures on the wall would glow if held a black light up to them.... Oh, and "true TV" was the playing on their big screen so my two young children got to watch people beat the piss out of each other while they ate their soggy pizza. During this recent visit, don't ask me why but I decided to try their version of bang bang shrimp, BAD IDEA! Again, partially my fault for even entertaining the idea they could pull this one off. Mayo anyone???? You can't shake up a couple of teaspoons of sriracha in a mayo bottle and then saturate some fried shrimp in it and expect it to be tasty. It was beyond disgusting. I have learned my lesson, 3rd time is not a charm at Maria's. Woof!

Food is good and around $20 a plate. I will probably look for Italian restaurant in Fort Myers next time.

I have just moved here from California, my son and I went there for dinner and there was no one to seat us or a sign that stated "Wait to be seated". We sat down at a table and a few moments later a waitress came to the table and stated " Next time wait to be seated" I informed her that was no way to talk to a customer and we left without eating. I will never set foot in that restaurant again and would not recommend their establishment to anyone. The lack of Etiquette training shows in the way they treat their customers.

They give you a steak knife for your chicken parm and you really need it. It's dark interior is a bit weird, servers are rude and overall expensive. I'll never go back

I give Maria's 5 stars because, despite being a relatively upscale Italian place, they surprised me with a very good burger at their bar. So, as I said, I didn't get Italian, but I tried the pizza my parents got and it was very good. The service was excellent, with a friendly and attentive bartender/waitress. The environment provides a classy atmosphere for a date or a good dinner out with family. The music played was classic rock, so not quite authentic, but it didn't bother me. Overall, it deserves a better score than they currently have (3 stars).

DO NOT PURCHASE THE DEAL-the restaurant will NOT honor it. I went to the restaurant today, just visiting to see my Grandmother, she really enjoys this restaurant and taking guests here. So I noticed they had a deal on Yelp and purchased it. Upon receiving the bill I showed the deal to the server who had no clue what it was, she spoke with another guest who apparently also works at the restaurant, who then tried to call the owner. After time has passed I'm not sure if the owner was contacted or not, but the staff still seemed very confused and tried to say it was an old deal that was suppose to be removed, or maybe a deal from another location. I explained that I just purchased it before coming in for lunch that day, and if that is the case then they need to take it down immediately as this is false advertisement. I paid for my bill and they DID NOT honor the deal I purchased, so I now have to contact Yelp to see if I can get a refund. Overall the food was good, but I am giving it a low rating because if a business wants to promote themselves online then they need to have good communication with their staff and have appropriate follow through.

Went for pizza at the bar, pie tasted good, but very little cheese on it. There were big spots of red sauce on it as there was not enough cheese.' Saw where they recently had an ad for a pizza man for $8hr. That will bring in the talent! Just love watching a former fave place go down the tubes due to piss poor operators that are squeezing nickles till they shit out a penny.

Dinner here last night. Food was OK. Antipasto was more of a salad than what I would expect. Fried calamari was nothing to write home about. Wine selection was overpriced for the quality of the selections. Service was average

Family style Italian restaurant with good to average fare. Service was friendly and pretty fast. Menu has a wide selection of pasta, fish and meat based dishes. The Chicken Parm was fine but nothing spectacular. The accompanying pasta was overlooked and mushy. Two others in our party had the Shrimp Scampy and the Alfredo. Both said that the seasoning in their dish was very mild. While not a memorable dining experience, this is one of the better dining options in this town.

We ate the Italian Feast special. The salad dressing, Basil vinaigrette, was pure oil. The food quality was less than special. The sausage was bad, the meatballs were . . Not the best. Service was fast and friendly. Maybe we hit a bad night, but there will not be a next time.

Good atmosphere, friendly service. Food was average. Not bad, not great. Best restaurant I've found so far in Lehigh Acres.

Good food and service, no complaints. I had a nice steak meal the first time I came and enjoyed a few drinks at the bar afterwards. They also sell single slices of pizza that are pretty tasty...

I chose to write this review in the morning so that I might gain some perspective after a good night's sleep. Alas I still say that last night was the worst experience I've EVER had in a restaurant! There is a new owner of Lehigh Acres' Maria's Pizza & Pasta. Mary Lou somebody. What an absolute rude, obnoxious and disrespectful piece of work! I would not call myself a total regular but I believe in supporting my local restaurants and really with gas as expensive as it is why drive to Fort Myers all the time? Still i do eat there and bring friends with me. The decor has always left a lot to be desired, with it being dated and dimly lighted. Every now and then the food has slipped from "pretty darn good" to "it will do". But the customer service for the most part has always been pleasurable. The wait staff is attentive, knowledgeable and personable. How? How does an ITALIAN restaurant run out of Eggplant Parmesan and LASAGNA! How is that possible? There were more people in the bar area than in the dining room so that should have been my first clue. We waited more than 15 minutes for someone to clean our table. The trio behind us said they'd been waiting 30 minutes for someone to take their drink order! My companion bussed our table and took the dirty dishes to the kitchen herself. Mary Lou said with a snippy tone "you sat at a dirty table" Ya THINK??? My companion then went to the bar and ordered our table's drinks and the drinks for the other table. (the poor bartender was slammed!) As the sun went down we found out just how dark the bar area was. One neon sign and a couple of light bulbs. The rest of the lighting was broken according to the beleaguered bartender. We begged for a candle. New owner Mary Lou "I'm too full of my own importance" is a tool! She has absolutely no clue about customer service. Was more interested in impressing her Chamber of Commerce cronies then making sure her paying customers were taken care of and happy. Here's a free tip: when you invite that many people to check out your new place, make sure you have enough waitstaff scheduled to handle your business! At no point did this woman apologize or attempt to make nice with what was going to amount to a more than $70 bill. When we expressed our displeasure Mary Lou stormed off without a word. When she returned she thrust an envelope at us and said "here take a gift card". Really dear? REALLY???? Having enough money to buy a restaurant doesn't make you a restauranteur and it certainly doesn't give you class! She had the gall to tell us not to come back. Free tip #2 Mary Lou: restaurants fail without CUSTOMERS duh! You know what i have to say to your attitude Mary Lou? Cee U Next Time!

My girlfriend an I have come here many times. We always love the food. Discovered a mutual like for Lambrusco and their bread rolls are awesome. Love it whether we want just a calzone to go or a fancier dinner that we eat there.

My husband and I had lunch here and didn't leave disappointed. They start you off with warm rolls and a mixture of olive oil, pepper, and Romano cheese to dip the bread in. We ordered Calamari as an appetizer. Tasted fresh and the marinara dipping sauce they came with was awesome. It was a big portion which we did not finish. I had a lunch special for $7.50 which was 3 big cheese ravioli and one crab canneloni in a pesto sauce. Very filling as well. My husband had the NY Strip sandwich, and he said it was good but the meat just had a little too much fat that never got trimmed off... We didn't have desert because we were stuffed. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because there were only 2 servers on, and there were about 10 tables filled. It seemed like they could not keep up and our server forgot our appetizer and brought it out with the meal after admitting she forgot, and drink refills took a while as well due to them being so busy.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
